The Baby is Getting Bigger!

We are at about 8 months now...about 33 weeks. We just had a doctor's appointment last Friday and all is well. The doctor went over all the labor expectations and Jeff and I asked quite a few questions. The baby moves all the time. We find it quite entertaining. We are getting anxious to meet him but also enjoying as much sleep as we can right now.
We hope all is well with everyone. Take care!

Saying Goodbye to Madrid

I don't have much to share except I am in my old bedroom at the house in Madrid tonight. I did a few touch ups around here and am preparing to say goodbye. The renter moved out last week and we need to still work on a few clean-up items and it will go up for sale in the next couple of weeks. We were very lucky that she took very good care of it and I just noticed tonight that she repainted my poorly painted cupboards.

I spent the past two days in Des Moines meeting with clients and going to appointments. Nick is busy with field work and working so I don't think he is missing me too much.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Happy 30th Nick!

We had a fun party for Nick on April 5th. His family and friends were there to help him celebrate and we had our friends from Omaha (that we met on our honeymoon) stay with us that night.

Tuesday was his actual birthday and he got a big present (see picture). Jeff helped me pick out the right one to buy and I'm pretty sure he likes it!

Kid's room

We have been readying the room for when the arrival comes. Notice the beautiful handmade quilt from (Great) Grandma Trost on the bed:

A Few Photos from Our Trip

Well, it's been a while, but we had a wonderful trip that we will never forget. We actually took more video footage than we did photos, but I thought I'd post a few for you to see.
This is after we were run under the waterfalls at Iguazu Falls. A little history on where we were...

Upon seeing Iguaçu, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt reportedly exclaimed "Poor Niagara!" Vastly larger than North America's Niagara Falls, Iguaçu is rivalled only by Southern Africa's Victoria Falls which separates Zambia and Zimbabwe. Whilst Iguazu is wider because it is split into about 270 discrete falls and large
islands, Victoria is the largest curtain of water in the world, at over a 1600 m wide and over 350 ft in height.
Below we are pictured when we are out to eat - something we did a lot of while we were there.

I am giving a presentation on our trip on the 13th, so I promise the video will be ready by then. I will be sure to send it out to you so you can see the actual story of our trip and we tried to document Jeff and Christine's life while we were there!
