So, I had an eventful weekend with the reptiles that live in our backyard. Jeff left last Saturday morning and then the fun began. I went to put the trash outside and all of a sudden I heard a slithering sound and I turned to look and saw a brown tail slither into a drain hole near our garage. I freaked out, as you could image with my history with insects. Anyways, I called Jeff and he just laughed...love the support. I then called our Portuguese teacher, Marcia, and her and her husband and son were over in less than 5 minutes. They tried putting a stick in the hole, running the hose down it, but we never saw what I thought was a snake again. Later that afternoon, I saw another one. This time it had a huge head with black and green spots. It looked at me and I looked at it and then I ran into the house ready to have a heart attack. I called Marcia again and her husband and son came over with a big pole. I showed them where it was and it ran away. They said "that snake has feet...it is a lizard". I felt a little embarrassed but glad to know that it wasn't a snake. I stayed inside the rest of the weekend. My dad now refers to our house as "The Animal Kingdom". Besides the reptile escapade, everything else is going fine. This Tuesday, Jeff and I will be leaving for Rio de Janeiro. We will spend about 4 days there and then Jeff will fly to the US and I will fly back to Horizontina. We are really looking forward to coming home at Christmas. Barb-I do like your suggestion about coming at T-giving and staying, however, I have classes until the middle of December. I can't wait to see everyone. Have a good Sunday!
